Ancestor Altars: Sacred Connection & Seasonal Healing
Step into the quiet, sacred space where the veil grows thin and memory becomes presence. Join us for a brief exploration into how people across the globe have held space for those who came before, and how these sacred focal points can anchor & comfort us through times of Seasonal Grief.
Together, we will share cross-cultural traditions, honor our roots, & weave our individual stories into a collective tapestry of remembrance.
What to Expect:
- Cross-Cultural Exploration: A brief glimpse into how different traditions honor the dead & maintain relationships with the spirit world.
- A Community Altar Building Experience: We will weave our personal offerings together into a living, shared Ancestral Altar - a temporary sanctuary of memory and devotion within the room.
- Healing & Reflection: Space to acknowledge seasonal grief and turn it into connection, reverence, and soothing medicine for the soul. Learning how to use these altars as a tool to keep us both connected & anchored through the New Year.
What to Bring:
- Ancestral Object: A picture, small heirloom, written name, or object belonging to or representing a departed loved one.
- A Cultural Token: A small item, symbol, or offering representing your personal heritage &/or your culture’s relationship with remembrance.
- Suggestion: If unsure what to bring, sit quietly with eyes closed and take a few moments to breathe and connect with your departed loved ones. Often they will show you in your minds eye, what they would like to have represent them. If it feels right, it is!
- (Note: All personal items will remain under your care and will return home with you at the end. There is no limit to how many items to bring. 2-4 items per person is to be expected.)

- Practical & Spiritual Knowledge: A deeper understanding of ancestral veneration and the confidence to build, bless & maintain your own altar at home.
- Support Through Seasonal Grief: Gentle tools to help move you through these challenging months & to help transform heavy loss (old or new) into a meaningful ritual.

What is a Death Café?
It's an agenda-free space where people come together to drink tea, eat cake, and talk about death and dying. It's a chance to explore a topic that affects us all, in a supportive and open environment. These events are always free!
Bring a friend (or two!) and make it a memorable evening. Afterwards, why not go out for a meal or drink and continue the conversation?

Grief is a lifelong and deeply rooted experience , and we're here to support you every step of the way.
❤️ Lisa Stuhley is a Certified Grief Educator, Usui Reiki Ryoho Master, End-of-Life Practitioner, Death Midwife & Funeral Celebrant. For over 30 years, Lisa has woven her profound connection to the sacred into her practice, offering solace and support to those navigating grief and trauma. Her journey of growth through personal loss fuels her mission to help others heal and thrive.
❤️Nicole Simon is a Trauma Informed Somatic Practitioner and Breathwork Facilitator. Her early relationship with grief has equipped her with tools and processes that allow her to help facilitate others through their own journey with grief. In addition Nicole has spent 20 years pampering others through her work as a professional hairstylist.

The cost for this event is sliding scale, $44 to $66+.
- Please consider paying $66+ if you are comfortably able to meet all of your basic needs. Paying anything over $66 allows us to give back & help fund those who need to pay on the lower scale.

Grief lives in the body — and so does healing.
Join us for Grief & Grace, a nurturing 2-hour community experience designed to help you sit with and begin to gently release your grief through guided meditation, sound healing, Reiki, and the power of compassionate community. This is a unique version of a Reiki Share experience and, as such, Level 2 Reiki Practitioners and above are welcome to practice their training here as well as receive for themselves.
Whether you're actively grieving a loss, holding unspoken sorrow, feeling the weight of the world, or simply needing a reset — You are not going crazy & this space is for you.

- Grounding Guided Meditation
- Embodied Grief Release
- Reiki & Sound Healing (432Hz crystal bowls + sound instruments)
- Reiki Share (receive + give if attuned to Level 2 or above)

Ritualistic Death Workshop at Hexenfest
What if we didn't have to die alone, without our loved ones by our side or in a sterile environment?
What if I told you that you have an opportunity to create your own sacred and ritualistic death experience?
Please join me on an inward journey where you are invited to come face to face with your own mortality. In safe space, I’ll support you in breaking past our limiting ways of thinking, explore our own narratives and fears surrounding death and re-envision your death through sacred, ritualistic lenses.
Bring something to sit on, water, journal and your beautiful self!
Lisa Stuhley is serving her community as a Reiki Master, End of Life Practitioner, Death Doula and Funeral Celebrant. Her fascination with ritual work surrounding the underworld has paved the way for many of her own personal breakthroughs. It is no surprise that Samhain is her favorite time of the year! She finds peace & comfort in communing with the Dead.
She is a recent graduate from The HeartWay ELP Training Program and is passionate about helping people leave this world on their own terms, where possible. She wishes to de-medicalize death and make the act of dying sacred again. She brings her 30 year connection to the sacred, ceremony and ritual to the room when holding space and working with others. WTF?! Grief Café - A Space To Be Seen & Heard
Lately, do you find yourself asking WTF multiple times a day? You're not alone, and you’re not going crazy. Join us for WTF Grief Café, a weekly drop-in space to process what is happening individually and collectively as a result of this Presidency.
♦This is NOT a space for political debate. Instead, it’s a safe container for those experiencing, holding, or processing grief & trauma from the direct effects of this time.
This space is for you to:
❤️ Share your lived experience & be heard
❤️Witness others in their grief without judgment
❤️Find community in a time when grief is being dismissed
❤️Learn guided meditation, gentle movement & breathwork to create space for grief
Grief is heavy. You don’t have to carry it alone. Together, let’s feel to heal.

MEET YOUR FACILITATOR:
Lisa Stuhley is an End-of-Life Practitioner/Midwife, Certified Grief Educator, Reiki Master & Funeral Celebrant with 30+ years of experience in ritual, ceremony, and holding space for transition. As a Queer, married, Jewish woman, Lisa deeply feels the shifts already taking place as we move toward 2025. She sees what is happening and refuses to remain silent. Lisa brings lived experience, deep training, and compassionate guidance to this space.
